Railway information

CP ("Caminhos de Ferro Portugueses"), the Portuguese railways offer the following facilities:

• Alfa Pendular trains
  circulating on the route Lisboa – Porto

• Intercity trains circulating on the following routes:
  from Lisboa to Porto-Guimaraes/ Guarda/ Covilha/ Faro/ Beja
• Regional and interregional trains for short distances
• Suburban train in the cities of Lisboa, Porto and Coimbra
• Special steam train rental for special occasions
• 2 International connections daily, namely: the Lusitânia Hotel Train between Lisboa and Madrid
• The Sud Express between Lisboa and Hendaye with connecting TGV trains to Paris

In Portugal smoking is restricted in the trains as follows:

• Urban and regional trains: smoking not allowed
• IC and Alfa Pendular: only allowed in the hall between the carriages
• International trains: smoking only allowed in the halls
